Hospice is a service provided for individuals with a life-limiting illness and life expectancy of 6 months or less. Generally speaking, hospice provides services to address physical symptoms, medication, supplies, and medical equipment related to a diagnosis.
Home care can supplement the hospice care visits by providing personalized assistance with activities of daily living, feeding, light housekeeping, companionship, and transportation. Although hospice care does cover bathing and grooming 2-3 times weekly, home care can cover these services on other days.
