What are Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)? ADLs are six basic self-care tasks that we like to think of as “hands-on” tasks. They are eating, bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility, and grooming. As people age, it can become increasingly difficult to perform any number of these tasks. A stroke, a fall, or other medical conditions can also make ADLs a challenge.
